Safety & Site Rules

The MLC is a workplace and as such operates under an Occupational Health and Safety Program, this program is supported by legislation which covers the operations of the MLC. All persons attending the center including members of the public, buyers, contractors, transporters and Livestock Agents are required to comply with the Program & Site rules. Key elements are as follows:

  • Smoking is only allowed in designated areas
  • All signage must be complied with.
  • The consumption of alcohol and Drugs is prohibited.
  • Closed in foot wear must be worn at all times.
  • Public access is restricted to the sale area only.
  • Photographic or recording equipment is not to be used without the permission of management.
  • Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
  • The direction of MLC employees must be followed at all times.
  • Traffic Management directions must be followed.
  • Rubbish must be disposed of properly.
  • All accidents or near misses must be reported to MLC management.
  • Auctioneer walkways must be kept clear when in use.
